Hit and Run --- by --- Lawrence Block. Block has produced another novel about executioner for hire Keller that makes you hold your breath and hope for the best for our man. Hired to kill a man in Des Moines, Keller finds himself set up, betrayed and framed, without money, on the lam, with his face pictured on every TV and in every newspaper. He must use all his ingenuity to make his way, below the radar, to his home and safe place in New York City. Only when he gets there he finds his apartment ransacked and plundered. Alone, he goes underground, furtively. The story is a good one. Block has Keller overcome one obstacle after another. Just when he’s safe he’s not. You’ll find it hard to put this book down. For sure you’re going to tear through it real fast The good thing about Block: he’s prolific.
