After being completely entranced with Tom Spanbauer's wild, life- altering, honest, and wise The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon, and with having the serendipitous experience of reading it right before the 2017 Total Eclipse of the Moon, which I witnessed not far from his hometown, I had big expectations for Now Is the Hour. His most recent books are his most derivative and the least appealing. After The Man, I heartily recommend, however, his powerful In the City of Shy Hunters, a terrifying tale of finding your way in life when death is all around. I say no more, except read it. After you read The Man. An aside: how I wish an underscore was available to properly present book titles here. Chicago Manual of Style would abhor quotation marks.
