Agree with Ron@Ottawa's comment that the DVD audio/video qualities are subpar to modern HD standards. However, this 1986 gangster drama has a good script and leading actors: a mob under-boss, his best friend, and younger brother. The restaurant gun fight scene with Mark Lee (Chow Yun-fat) firing his guns is one of the coolest sequence in action crime films. Per wiki, it was a landmark film, credited with setting the template for the heroic bloodshed genre, which was considerably influential in Hong Kong action cinema, and later Hollywood. Note: A Better Tomorrow - 1986 (Leslie Cheung & Chow Yun-fat) ★★★⅔ A Better Tomorrow 2 - 1987 (Leslie Cheung & Chow Yun-fat) A Better Tomorrow 3: Love & Death in Saigon - 1989 (Chow Yun-fat, Anita Mui & Tony Leung) A Better Tomorrow 2018 - 2018 (Wang Kai) ★★★½
