A quick and witty flight through the author's unique experience of teaching maximum security criminals (don't call them inmates!) books from "Macbeth" and Kafka's "Metamorphosis," to "Junkie" and "Lolita." This is a wild ride, and full of very human insights and foibles.

both insightful and realistic into prison life and the good effects of reading. less self congratulary than Walmsey's The Prison Book Club
