Set in lovely Brighton, the San Francisco of England, this series follows a young female detective making her way in the police force. Go girl.

I liked it because they did not use fowl language. This cop did not trust anyone and did not have to many skills in the way of self defense.

It's a reasonably good, interesting detective series with many twists and turns! Perhaps, too many!
Just not one of my favorite series! A wonderful cast and good acting, though!
I just didn't care for the story line, I suppose, and will not be continuing! Something was lacking and very unlike other well-known British mystery detective series! I am sure some viewers would enjoy this new generation of such detective series!

Perhaps, it's because we were never sure which character, aside from the main character, to trust or like!? It's watchable, but I don't care enough to continue into the next series to see what happens next!

I found it hard to accept that the detective could have such a serious wound and be able to conceal it and keep on doing her work, but other than that, we’ll done.

Superior Brit crime drama that takes place mainly in Brighton. Two female protagonists make for lively competition, unexpected twists, and plenty of drama. Well-acted and written, but romantic entanglements not really necessary. The story and drama + seaside setting are enough to hold one's interest . BTS reveals that one of the actors, Joe Absalom (Doc Martin) had an unexpected encounter with real-life drama while on set, which you need to check out for yourself. Truth is stranger than fiction!!

***Good. Same plot over 6 episodes. Would have been better over 3 episodes and a different case for next 3 episodes. Found myself fast forwarding in last 2 episodes just to end story ! But if you have patience then enjoy it right to the end. Good acting

Very, very well done! Excellent writing, direction, and acting! Found myself hooked during the first episode and binge-watched it during the most of one day! Looking forward to (possibly Series 2) of this top-notch series! Checked online (March 25, 2019) the renewal is still pending.

I just spoke to her. She's fine. Safe as houses.
===
What came after the drinking ander how I was with your mum ... that wasn't Frank. That was me. I did that.
===
I'm just walking into walls and you're watching me do it. I thought you were my friend.
-I am your friend.
No, you've got too many secrets to be anyone's friend. You tell me things when you think I need to know them. ou decide every time.
And you always know more than what you say.
===
Why didn't you know about me?
-Frank and I had an understanding. If something mattered, he'd tell me.
===
We've all got a past, Nancy, but you seem to have a lot of it, and it's starting to get in the way.

Don't push me, Nancy, cos I I might start asking questions you really don't wanna have to answer.
===
What, you didn't know? And you a detective? Makes me wonder why I pay my taxes.
===
So I choose whether to bring you down or lie for you.
-I'm not asking you to lie.
If I keep my mouth shut, that's what it is.
===
XXYYZZ you don't know what it's like to have to lie to the people that you're close to.
-I know that I have to be able to live with myself.
It's dangerous.
-Then you'd better be there, hadn't you? Catch me if I fall.
