Violence: This book can get pretty violent at times, for instance there is one character who thinks eating an extremely humane heart will cure him of the disease.
Imagine a world separated by a 700 foot wall that divides the world in two, one civilized and the other a feral zone. In the Feral Zone are humans that have a virus that has caused mutations (not zombies). These mutations cause people to have animal characteristics and eventually go insane. Lane has lived a safe and sheltered life only to discover her father has been making trips to the Feral Zone and now she must journey through the Feral Zone to find him in five days or never see him again.
