In this book, The Stilton family find out they are related to the fa-mouse explorer, Vasco da Gama (who was the first European to reach India by sea). They are invited to retrace his journey, with Geronimo as captain! On board the boat, the Stilton family learn someone is planning to sabotage the journey. Bernando, the helmsmouse, accused George Gorgonzola, the first officer, while Thea and Trap accused Paulo Sailsmouse, the cabin mouse. Paulo took off his mask and revealed that her real name was Paulina Pecorina, whose great-great-great-great-grandfather was Vasco's personal chef, but never got included in the crew list. George also took off his mask, showing that it was actually Sally Ratmousen! Sally has taken embarrassing photos of Geronimo throughout the trip, and was going to publish them the following day! Luckily for Geronimo, Bernardo took Sally's camera before she fled on a motorboat. In the end, the historians who said the Stilton family was related to Vasco de Gama, concluded that they made a mistake, and that Victor da Gamouse is related to Vasco da Gama, not the Stilton family! The Stilton family ended up being related to Luis de Camoes, a fa-mouse writer who wrote the Luisads, an epic poem telling the story of Vasco da Gama's voyages. Chese niblets! What a story!
