Certainly not for everyone, but one of my personal favorites. If you have a sensitive constitution or are easily offended, avoid at all costs. However, if you are a Rocky Horror fan and wish for something a bit more risque to share with your equally bizarre friends, this will likely be one of your favorites as well. Enjoy and beware the forbidden zone!

Alice in Wonderland meets Flesh Gordon and H. R. Pufnstuf for a week-long cocaine binge in this seriously messed up performance piece penned by the founding members of Oingo Boingo. Among the many drug-fueled highlights are a frog-headed butler, a human chandelier, and a snappy Big Band number performed by Satan and his chorus of jazzy zombies. There’s also a machine-gun toting Sunday School teacher, cross-dressing twins, and a decapitated chicken boy whose chatty head flies around on little angel wings. Filmed in austere B&W with badly drawn cartoonish sets and cheap cardboard props “Forbidden Zone” has all the production values of a 70s porn film minus the porn but with lots of breasts. The sheer audacity of it all proved irresistible however and some of the musical numbers (yes Virginia, it’s a musical) are pure camp delight. Lots of fun for those with a penchant for all things underground and cultish.
