In this new, third volume, Starman's hometown of Opal City is terrorized by Dr. Pip, an eccentric bomber. And with no demands from the mad villain, both Starman and the local authorities are unable to track him down. The third omnibus of the Starman series was a revealing experience. I had not realized that there were previous Starman series. The original dates back to 1941, so no wonder the series is so heavily reminiscent of the golden age of comics. James Robinson has done a thorough job of tying in all the different Starmen that have been written since the 40's. He also manages to write in various well known heroes such as Captain Marvel, Batman, Green Lantern (the original), Flash (also the original), and even a kind incarnation of Solomon Grundy. Starman is an excellent series that I can highly recommend to mature readers.
