I'm not homeschooling my children, but if I were, this book would be the perfect place to learn how to get started. Whelchel compiled information from fifteen families who homeschool using different learning styles. It's written in a very warm, conversational tone. She shows readers a lot of respect, too, by assuming that we're reading this book because we love our children. But she doesn't assume that we'll ultimately choose to homeschool based on reading her book. I liked that.
I loved it! I loved reading all the different perspectives and the variety as well. Also, it was nice to hear a bit about the different methods of homeschooling and different learning styles. I knew about it before hand but I just didnt realize how much of a role it has in your childs progress. Im pretty convinced now that homeschooling is for our family.
After reading 15 families' perspectives, I was convinced that homeschooling was for my family! It is simple and conversational. If you are considering homeschooling at all, it is worth reading!
