Part Two: A Late Quartet
Windmill Library Auditorium, Sunday, August 23 at 2 p.m.
An in-depth exploration of the profound, monumental and magisterial Quartet No. 14 in C Sharp Minor, Op. 131, completed in 1826, just a year before Beethoven’s death, and said to be his favorite quartet. Reportedly, when Franz Schubert heard this masterpiece, he remarked: “After this, what is left for us to write?”
