Shalom Bollywood

1:00 PM – 2:45 PM
Windmill Library

Full of unexpected delights, this film revives the all-singing, all-dancing, cheeky feel of a Bollywood production. It highlights the Jewish stars that dominated early Indian cinema when Hindu and Muslim women could not appear on screen. From the silent era through Bollywood’s golden age, Indian cinema icons share their highs and lows, and describe how their careers pushed the boundaries of Indian-Jewish culture.

Free and open to the public. For more information, please call 702.507.6068.

Co-sponsored by the Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival. Now entering its 18th year, the Las Vegas Jewish Film Festival is the longest running film festival in Nevada. The festival uses the art of film and interactive educational discourse to provide positive cultural outreach to both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities, promoting diversity to enhance and strengthen awareness of Jewish culture, history, and identity.
